Great job Rags!

From 3 Rivers Team Bass and Four Corners UBTT
The first tournament of 2017 will be this Saturday, April 29th. The sign up and rules meeting will be at Ziem's Ford Corners on the Showroom floor from 6-7 pm. Show up early so you can get all of your paperwork filled out and we can do the boat draw as close to 7 as possible. We will also have a Dobyns Rod and Sportsmans Warehouse gift certificates to give away. There will be no blind sign ups on Saturday so you must notify me before the meeting on Friday if you will be fishing and can't attend the meeting. Make sure your fishing license is current as well as your boat insurance.
The member fees and entry fees are as follows:
3 Rivers Member fee $35/person-Entry $120 per team
UBTT member fee $40/person ($55 for family)-Entry $140 per team
(if you only fish UBTT there is a $20 big bass fee)
UBTT will be a CASH only buy in.
Please be on the water by 6 am Saturday morning. Due to the amount of debris floating in the water we will launch when there is plenty of light and with the forecast for cloudy skies I am not sure exactly when that will be. Beverly will be there at 5 doing muscle inspections so make sure you show up early enough to be on the water by 6 as we will not wait on you when we begin calling numbers.
Make sure you know where the no wake buoys are in Francis and La Jara. Judging by the last few weekends, some of you have forgotten where they are. Remember there is no passing inside the no wake and anyone caught running on plane will be disqualified. There is no fishing inside any no wake buoy surrounding any of the 3 marinas...yes this includes the cove in Simms!!
Weigh in will begin at 3 pm. The number of flights will be determined Friday night at the meeting so we are asking you to try an have at least one member of your team at the sign up meeting as we have a lot of things to go over. The awards will be held at The Sportsman Restaurant as soon as I can get there after weigh in.
This should be an exciting season with hosting both the 3 Rivers and UBTT Championships on Navajo this fall!
See you all this weekend!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Navajo Lake to host 2017 Ultimate Bass Team Tour Tournament of Champions

This is great news for Navajo Lake and New Mexico bass tournament anglers.  Want to fish a circuit in your own back yard and have a Western Regional championship come to you instead of driving to another venue.  You are in luck.  Billy Dunson announced last week that the Four Corners will be hosting the 2017 UBTT Tournament of Champions.  All you have to do for a shot at the championship title and the prizes that come with it are fish enough events to qualify for the event.

The date and location of the 2017 UBTT TOC has been announced and we are excited to let everyone know the UBTT Championship will be on Navajo, October 6-7, 2017!  3 Rivers Bass Team Trail will again run in conjunction with UBTT Four Corners in 2017.  Both championships will be held on Navajo Lake.

First of all, thank you to everyone who supported the circuit last season and made this possible.  It is a unique opportunity to be able to fish one venue and compete in two separate championships at the end of the season.

The first 3 Rivers and UBTT qualifying tournament is April 29, 2017 at Navajo Lake and we will meet at Ziem's Ford Corners in the showroom floor at 6pm on Friday April 28, 2017 to register everyone for both events.

Dobyns Rods has become the newest sponsor of 3 Rivers and has donated rods and certificates to give away at our sign up meeting, I also have gift cards from Sportsman's Warehouse to give away at the meeting but you must be present to win!

Looking forward to this season, see you all next Friday.

We are sharing this information from Ty Faber and the NM TBF.  This in no way is meant to detract from the NM BASS Nation efforts to grow and put a NM angler in the BASS Classic, but another way for anglers that would like to compete in a different venue and be able to travel to a champhionship as an individual.  The NM qualifier will be run as a team format with a designated boater and nonboater.  This year, the semi-national will be held at Navajo Lake also and provides a tremendous opportunity for bass anglers in our state.  We support the NM TBF and look forward to seeing you out there.

From the NM TBF (

The Bass Federation of New Mexico is having its state team qualifying tournament in conjunction with the 3 Rivers and UBTT tournaments June 3rd, 2017 at Navajo lake launching from the Pine Marina.  This will be a team format, and the top 6 teams will make the state team to fish the national semi-final.  The top six teams will decide between themselves who is the boater and who is the non boater for the national semi-final.

The national semi-final will be July 15th-16th, 2017 on Navajo launching from the Pine Marina.  Navajo will be off limits the 8th to the 12th of July if you plan to compete in the national semi-final.  Official practice days will be the 13th and 14th of July.  The top boater and non boater for the state of New Mexico will go to the TBF National Championship in 2018 for a chance to fish the BFL All American and a chance for the living the dream package on the FLW tour.  The Colorado TBF and the Wyoming TBF will also be at the national semi final.

If anyone has any questions please call Ty Faber at 970-946-7096.

[Entry for the June 3rd NM State Team qualifier is TBD.  More information to follow.]

  • From James Dominguez NM DGF:  It won’t be long before anglers will be hitting the waters.   The NMDGF AIS program plans to conduct watercraft inspections at various waterbodies throughout New Mexico.  Per rule, all conveyances or equipment having left the state or conveyances or equipment with out of state registrations will be required to stop for an inspection prior to launch.    All conveyances or equipment exiting a waterbody can voluntarily stop for a Clean, Drain and Dry inspection.  By stopping on their way out, they can receive a wire seal tag that will expedite an inspection for their next boat outing.  Your assistance in getting the word out to tournament anglers, recreational anglers and pleasure boaters would be much appreciated.  For those anglers that leave the state for a tournament or other fishing event, please encourage them to contact NMDGF ahead of time and we can try and make the inspection/decontamination process as convenient as possible.  If you check out our website, you will find a GIS map with current watercraft inspection locations.   The hope is that anyone with a smartphone will access it and find the nearest inspection station.  You can also follow us on our Facebook page.
