Outdoor Adventures Hunting and Fishing Show in Albuquerque this Weekend

ALBUQUERQUE – The annual New Mexico Outdoors Adventures Hunting and Fishing Show is back at the state fairgrounds in Albuquerque this weekend.

There’ll be plenty to see and do at this year’s event, hosted by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.

Visitors will see the latest equipment for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation. New models of off-highway vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats and kayaks will be on display. And as always, outfitters, guides and conservation organizations will be on hand to offer their services and advice.

Admission is free to all licensed anglers, hunters and trappers. Youths younger than 18 get in free and it’s just $3 for everyone else.

The event will be Feb. 17-19 in the Manuel Lujan Building at Expo New Mexico on the state fairgrounds in Albuquerque. The show opens to the public from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

  • From James Dominguez NM DGF:  It won’t be long before anglers will be hitting the waters.   The NMDGF AIS program plans to conduct watercraft inspections at various waterbodies throughout New Mexico.  Per rule, all conveyances or equipment having left the state or conveyances or equipment with out of state registrations will be required to stop for an inspection prior to launch.    All conveyances or equipment exiting a waterbody can voluntarily stop for a Clean, Drain and Dry inspection.  By stopping on their way out, they can receive a wire seal tag that will expedite an inspection for their next boat outing.  Your assistance in getting the word out to tournament anglers, recreational anglers and pleasure boaters would be much appreciated.  For those anglers that leave the state for a tournament or other fishing event, please encourage them to contact NMDGF ahead of time and we can try and make the inspection/decontamination process as convenient as possible.  If you check out our website, you will find a GIS map with current watercraft inspection locations.   The hope is that anyone with a smartphone will access it and find the nearest inspection station.  You can also follow us on our Facebook page.
